Greening Holy Spirit CES' Kindergarten Yard!

Description: Windfall Ecology Centre hosted a Depave event at Holy Spirit Catholic Elementary School. Project partners, school staff, students and parents helped remove pavement by hand and freeing the soil in the school's Kindergarten yard, starting the transformation of the currently paved surface into green space. The rejuvenated space will feature native trees, native shrubs, native plants, mulch and natural wood seating areas for students. The Holy Spirit CES Depave event is a collaborative project of Windfall Ecology Centre, completed in partnership with Holy Spirit CES, the York Catholic District School Board, GWF Construction, Evergreen, Gro-Bark, Earthbound Trees, the Town of Aurora, the Aurora Lions Club, Treasure Mills, Green Communities Canada and Depave Paradise. Thank you to the Great Lakes Guardian Fund for funding this wonderful naturalization project!
